Sweet Romantic Letter to the Love of My Life

Of all the things that God gives us, the opportunity to experience true love is one of the biggest gifts of this life. If you’ve experienced deep sadness and then fallen in love you will
            understand this poem/letter that I wrote for my husband.
            Love can make us look at life with different eyes.






   My Oxygen



    It’s so cold
    And dark
    Can anyone hear me cry?
    In the abyss of this ocean?
    I thought I was alone
    And that there was no more hope
    When I thought I was drowning
    You reached down and grabbed my hand
    And from the deep waters that I was in
    I felt your hand reaching down to help me
    I latched onto your hand
    And the strength of your arms pulled me up
    You brought me to the surface
    And I breathed
    Am I alive?
    Am I really alive?
    I’m alive!
    I can feel…
    I can see…
    I can smell…
    I can hear…
    I can breathe…
    I’m alive.
    You saved me.
    You brought me back
    To the realization of life
    And I thank God for you
    I thank Him for giving me the gift
    of you in my life.
    The world doesn’t look so dire
    Life doesn’t seem so impossible
    Knowing the love that lives
    in my heart
    You unlocked
    The door of love within me
    And gave me courage
    I am not afraid anymore
    I can take on the world
    Because I know true love exists
    Just knowing it is real
    Is enough
    It’s the oxygen I needed
    Thinking of your smile
    Your eyes…
    Your depth…
    We are one.
    I could just lay in your arms
    forever…
    And touch your cheek
    And call you
    My honey
    My love
    My peace…
    You are my oxygen

    I think for a man it may be somewhat different Eren. Also the feeling I had from your poem was that before your lucky husband came along, you were having some difficult times and then he came along and became the the missing piece that your were lacking to make you whole.

    I agree that most men don’t allow themselves to go this far in the love that they experience, but there’s always the exception.

    I like to see it as both of you are the lucky ones for finding each other. :) My husband is my best friend and someone who taught me so much about life etc. He completes me in many ways. I’m sure many couples are experiencing the same feeling and I truly wish that all will have an everlasting relationship with each other. May the love continues to grow for each other as well.

    @Ching Ya - Yes love is a beautiful thing. there’s nothing like being able to be with the person that is your soul mate, your other half (one soul in two bodies).
