My 2 cents on the sweetener...I've been making Eren's recipe for a couple years now and we usually use the natural cane sugar crystals. This seems to give a richer flavor of sweetener than regular sugar. I imagine that sucanat would give a similar richness...just a bit stronger as it would have a bit higher molasses content than the natural crystals I use.

I've shared this recipe with LOTS of folks and they love knowing that what I serve them is ALL-NATURAL, HEALTHY, and YUMMY, too! ;-)

Hi Amy!
The healthiest sweetener to use is Stevia. However it tastes awful LOL!
I don't know about boiling sweetener.. doesn't sound like a safe thing to do health wise. Definitely ask around about that - to doctors to find out if it's ok.
I've never boiled down anything.
I just use this recipe as is. Has never let me down. Hope you enjoy!
All the best,
Eren

Also, i read from another website that you boil the water with the sweetener and cool it. Then you add the lemonade juice and ice. Appearantly that also made a dramatic difference? Do you think that that would taste better?

I haven't tried this yet, but my friends and I are having a lemonade stand and I came by this site. A lot of other sites said the same thing so i typed in Secret Lemonade Recipes and i found this (: It seems like the other people who commented enjoyed it alot, so I'll give it a try. And I am a really big fan of healthy things, so i was wondering what healthy sweetener you used? Would Sucanat go great as the sweetener? Or should I leave that out and replace it with another sweetener?

Hi Roger,
It'll give you 3 to 4 cups of lemonade (depending on the size of the cup). Have fun with your lemonade stand ;-) .
All the best,

@ Helen - I think your daughter will really like it. Every time I make it people are like - wow this is great!

@ Lucy - So glad it was a hit on Memorial Day. That's awesome. It must be great to be able to just go out in the back yard and pick lemons. Freezing is always a great way to not waste. Thanks for commenting :-D

Blessings always,
Eren

We have 2 lemon trees and due to the high winds these past couple of days the ground was littered with them. We picked up the lemons and made this recipe and
it was very, very good. Our lemons don't have seeds and I love the pulp so didn't need to sift them out. We also squeezed some of the lemon juice and placed them in ice cubes to freeze since there's only 4 of us and I hate to waste them. Will use them in other recipes. Thank you!!

Hi Sandy-
A regular sifter works just fine. Just be sure to add the water and ice the second time around.

I am not a lemonade lover, so I don't know good from bad...it's all bitter! However, my hubby is a fanatic about his lemonade! We usually buy the Minute Maid stuff at the store...with pulp. We were given a HUGE bunch of lemons and I found your recipe while doing a search (with my extensive kitchen knowledge, I didn't know how to make lemonade!)
