Keys to interpreting the Bible the right way through study

One little lie can ruin a whole lot. If somehow lies have slipped into our belief system we are bound to have major trouble up ahead.
Many false doctrines and even cults have begun because people were not careful to examine the true meaning of things.
This is why it is essential to follow certain guidelines when we interpret God’s word.

Word Study: Find other places in the Bible in which the word is used.

When we’re studying a certain scripture that teaches us a truth we must determine what the main words are in that verse. With those main words we can do a word study and find the many other places in which the word is used in the Bible.

Trusting God Scriptures: believing in God in times of crisis is a key to contentment

Being Content part 2- seeing things from God’s perspective

Do you know what the root of lack of contentment is? Many times we blame bad circumstances or people but the truth is that lack of contentment is a lack of trust in God. We may think we trust God, but when things begin to tighten up why do we complain, get mad, or grumble? Don’t we know that the Almighty God is sovereign? Don’t we know that He knows much more than we do about what is best for our lives?

Trusting God is the key starting point to being content no matter what happens.

You see, Christ’s peace is not circumstantial. When we abide in His peace, we are deciding to trust God no matter what. He is our shepherd and we are His sheep.
Where can you find contentment? Is it in something that you get, have or achieve?

My Personal Christian Salvation Testimony: Seeing God in Little Ordinary Things

Many times people make rationalizations and excuses to not have faith in God. This was me– years ago. In truth I wanted to not have “any restrictions” on me. I thought God would stop me from having fun. I always had a so called “reason” to stop me from believing in God.
Disbelief and Emptiness
But even though I had this rebel in me not wanting to believe, I also had this awful nagging empty feeling every day. I tried to fulfill the emptiness inside of my heart with “fun”, friends, studies- whatever I could do. I tried very hard to be at peace- but still, the emptiness was right there. I searched for the purpose of my life and it never felt quite right. I was going around in circles truly desiring to feel peace and fulfillment- and it just wouldn’t happen.

Do you feel like no matter what happens you can’t seem to be content and at peace with your life? Like no matter how much you try to resolve things there is always something to steal your joy?

The Example of a Joyful Family in Poverty Causes Me to Look Inside Myself

I felt like this for a long time. Like I was on this roller coaster ride. Sometimes I was content and other times the peace simply fled from me. The turning point for me happened one day while I was watching a documentary about poverty on T.V. Something struck me. In my spirit I felt the Lord speaking to me through this T.V. show.
I was amazed as I watched this family of nine try to cram together to sleep on the dirt floor of a hut that was made out of cardboard and recycled materials. When it rained everything in their little hut got wet including them.
