Often times I wonder why we fall into sin even when we know for a fact that it is a sin. I mean we should always really want to do the right thing… right? Then why don’t we?
Even if we’re trying to understand how to overcome sin and act correctly on the outside, why does our heart not line up to what we’re doing?
As I’m laying here .. I’m thinking about how intricately our thought life and actions are intertwined with our emotions. We are emotional beings.

Do you sometimes just wake up feeling anxious or nervous? There may not even be a problem to solve but somehow it just happens.
Well I’ll tell you what really helps me when this occurs: listening to praise and worship songs.
Of course it’s important to set aside time each day to be just “be” with the Lord. But other than those moments we can remain aligned to Him through turning on praise music in the background. This really helps get our minds aligned to God’s truths and experience the Presence of the Lord while doing every day things. It also keeps away those negative thoughts that try to creep into our minds.

I’ve been asked why I love Jesus. If you’ve ever read Scripture, you’ve probably seen how completely awesome Jesus is.
His wisdom overflows. His sincere love for all of us in the fact that he took on all of our sins … really, we can’t ever repay what He did for us on that cross.
He was perfect unlike any other human being that ever lived. And even though He could have totally left us all condemned by our sins, He decided He loved us too much to do that. He has such overflowing love towards us all.
If you’re feeling far from the God lately or not as close to Him as you want to be, then my prayer is that this list of reasons will help you come closer to Him. (Each reason has a Bible verse to accompany for you to meditate.)

Some people understand God’s truths and the concepts but they waver when it comes to applying those truths.
I want to give you a little understanding about the difference between knowing God’s truths and actually living them.
Using a metaphor
In order to explain the difference so that you may clearly understand, I’ll use a metaphor. So let’s say you watched the most fantastic class with the best teacher in the world about personal hygiene. The class had multimedia presentations, movies, basically everything you can possibly imagine on how to have good personal hygiene.
You came out of that class bursting with information on how to have the best personal hygiene possible. Suppose that after that class you went home and didn’t brush your teeth every morning, didn’t take a shower, and basically didn’t take any of the steps that you needed to have personal hygiene.
