Hi! I'm Eren Mckay and I would like to thank you for reading my blog. I provide helpful tips for families in their daily lives and educational resources for teachers.

Mothers sacrifice so much. It’s very important that we honor our mothers always and find ways to make them happy.
Since Mother’s Day is coming up, I wrote this poem for my mother. If you’re looking to give a poem to your mother then you can use bits and pieces of the poem I wrote for mine and rearrange it to make it your own.

Click here for the Mother's Day poem in printable formatThis is a printable version of the poem so you can use it as is too. Hope you like it ;-) . By clicking the image to the left, the printable poem will open up in a new window.
I would really like to stay in contact with you, so if you haven’t signed up for the Embracing Home newsletter, you can do so by clicking this link and filling in the form.

MOTHER - MY GIFT FROM UP ABOVE

I remember all the things

You did for me as a child

Every time you looked at me

Wiped my tears and smiled

When it was time to go to sleep

You’d come and tuck me in

And play the “buzzing bee game”

Tickling my chin.

When performing the school play

I found you in the crowd

I saw the love – your eyes sparkled

I knew I’d made you proud.

You were always so caring

And also so alert

Protecting and advising

So that I wouldn’t get hurt

Thank you for every time

you tried and helped me rise

For every time you gave me hugs

And sang me lullabies

Raising me wasn’t easy

It must have been so tough

To put up with all my stubbornness

I can’t thank you quite enough

When the waves of life hit hard

I was tempted to do wrong,

Your wisdom grounded me

Your example kept me strong.

All the things you’ve sacrificed

Demonstrate your love

You’re my constant inspiration

You’re my gift from up Above.

Happy Mother’s Day to you Eren!

Your poem is so beautiful that I’m sending not only my mom here to read it but all my friends’ moms as well.

I’m sure your mom (waves at Kathleen) is extremely proud of you Eren because I know how much you love her and appreciate her.

And mom, you’ve done a really, really great job raising Eren because she is someone my wife, Sharon, and I are PROUD to call our FRIEND!!!

That’s a beautiful poem Eren and shows how much your mother means to you. I’ve always felt it strange that we don’t always appreciate our parents until we have kids of our own, only then do we realize how much they had to go through.

Such lovely words Eren, sadly this Mother’s Day I don’t have my Mom to hold and hug, but I know she knows that I love her and thank her for all she did for me.
    She’s here in spirit!
God gave her to me and now He has called her to Him.

@Girish – I just created a printable version of the poem so that it’s easy to just print out and give to your mother. This poem was written for my mother but it can be used for all mothers who sacrifice and love their children above their own desires as my mom did.

@Kelli – Hi there! I’m happy you enjoyed it. You have an awesome Mother’s day too! Blessings sis.

@Debbie – When I saw these images I just felt the creativity come out. I have been wanting to write a poem for my mom and needed the most moving images to combine with the words so that I could express my love for her. By the way I just wanted to say that your blog is so deep and creative. I just love it.

@Roy – Mother’s Day is very special. Mom is my treasure for sure. My dad would always say to me when I was a kid: the most important person on earth is your mother.

@Robert – Thanks. Hope your sis likes the poem :-)

@Darrell – Yes I wanted to find a picture that would blend with all the other images. I’m happy you liked it.

@Karla – They are wonderful and generous people. You have a great Mother’s Day too ;-)

@Sire – Very true that we don’t quite know what they have gone through until we ourselves are parents. I know my mom had a lot of work with me. But she just kept at it. If I can be half the mother to my kids that my mom was to me and my brother then I can say I have achieved a lot!

@Elise – I know of the recent pain you went through of losing your mother. I am so thankful to God for giving you the chance of being there with her in those last moments. I know she is now with our glorious God feeling total joy and happiness in His Presence. I can only imagine what heaven will be like with the colors, the music… the beauty of our Creator.
I also want to say → I really admire your strength as a mom to 7 children. You are an awesome mom and I’m privileged to call you my friend. Love you girl!

    Blessings ♥,
    Eren Mckay
