Hi there! I'm Eren Mckay. I created this blog to help others save money, time & major headaches through sharing what I've learned about the internet & techie world. I hope we can all help each other grow in our online adventures.

Top 13 Clues that You’re Addicted to the Internet:
1- Your husband (or wife) has to send you an email message when he (she) wants to say something to you.
You also start to think that emailing information substitutes actually having to say things in person.

2- You tell your family members that you would be able to talk to them a lot more if they would just get on Skype (that way you could talk to them while typing, LOL
).

3- You honestly want to make a few video tutorials about Skype when your family members look at you with a blank stare on their face and ask you: “What in the world is Skype?!?”
4- You dread going to the mall because your laptop decided to take a vacation and stop working
.

5- You go to Wordtracker and start to type in weird keywords after reading Nicole Dean’s niches that she never thought of post.
6- Your first idea of doomsday is turning on the computer and finding the blue screen of death.
7- Your second idea of doomsday is waking up and discovering that your website has just been hacked.
8- Your idea of fun family time is showing the kids your latest delicious bookmarks.

9- You laugh for days or even months after reading Lynn Terry’s awesome satire against website content thieves. You wish there was some kind of award for such clever and hilarious posts like that.
10- If for some weird reason you actually have to spend days without a computer, you start to experience withdrawal symptoms which may include (but aren’t restricted to):
- insomnia
- headaches
- nervousness
- irritability
- just sitting and looking at a wall and wondering what you’re supposed to do next.
11- Your mom has the idea of going to a farm for 3 days and tells you that you can’t take the computer with you.
You then embark on a two hour explanation of why 3 days without a computer is your idea of torture.
12- You think these work at home desks are actually great ideas ![]()
13- You have at least 10 of these 15 signs that tells you’re a web geek.
And in case you’re wondering how I came up with this list, let’s just say personal experience is great inspiration for writing ![]()

Hi Eren,
Personal experience is so true and truth can be so humorous at times.
Boy, I can really relate with #2 and #3.
The only thing worse than a client saying, “What is Skype?” is saying, “What’s a C-Drive?”
Your Friend,
Roy

Oh WOW Eren – spot on there. Do I really want to be reminded how ‘virtual’ I have become – perhaps not.
It’s not just the internet it’s the whole computer and technology in general. How things have changed for us since we moved from a 3rd world country where being ‘online’ was just having a working phone line for a day or 2!
Keep ‘em coming Eren – you rock!

@Lorilynn - Thank you for the compliments
@Dan - I think not having a computer is my worst nightmare – really it is. But thankfully I haven’t had to experience that in a while.
@Roy - How about this one: “What’s a link?”
@Jay – Absolutely – humor based on truth is way funnier – hee hee.
@Elise – It’s amazing how some parts of the planet are still in the dark age – literally.
All the best,
Eren

@Pete – If I had to go to a farm I’d need a lot of things to do already in a list or else I would go stir crazy- LOL.
@Sire - I’m now embracing my geekiness- LOL
. Doesn’t make me sad anymore. My kids know that this is part of my work to sustain them and make their lives better in the future. (By the way, you’ll love the satire against website content thieves)
@Mike – good one
! My brother memorizes them in every city he goes to since he travels a lot. hee hee

Very humorous post and am guilty of only say maybe 10+ of the items.
Question for Roy, what is a “C drive” ROLOL There is nothing average(as in the grades A,B,& c) about my drive. 500G dual boot WinVista and Ubunu9.04(soon to be 9.10)

@Robert – yeah every single one of those clues were real life inspired – hee hee. You’ve got a some good memory going on there on your computer. But we all definitely need memory. I’m thinking of buying more RAM memory for my computer to make it run even faster. I’ll probably buy another 2 gigs of RAM.

These are all hilarious. I related to a lot more of these examples than I wanted. I think someone should start a Blog-A-Holics.

Love the creativity here, but there’s one problem — my to do list hasn’t been touched since I started reading.
Awesome fun, Eren! Love watching you grow.
((hugs)) and thanks for the mention.

@Maria - LOL. That’s a good idea for a domain name. blogaholics.com
. It’s memorable. Most of the people related to these “clues” but it’s all good.
@Nicole – Keep those hilarious weird niches coming. They’re my weekly fun
.
I really have grown a lot since I first came online. I believe that the amount of studying has really helped me discover so many things. I’ve acquired a different perspective than when I began. I want to share what I’ve learned with others so that they can have realistic expectations when they blog and won’t get discouraged. Thanks for stopping by.
