Cupcake Baby Shower Invitations

The starting point of any shower is choosing the invites. You can hand make, print out, or buy ready made cupcake baby shower invitations. Of course you want to decide on the color pallete of the baby shower before making them. Everything should be color coordinated. For hand made ones, use two or tree different colored card stock. Cut each part of the cupcake out and glue them all together with stick or hot glue.

The information of the party can either go in front of the cupcake baby shower invitations or on the back. I personally prefer the back so that the front is free to simply be cute and decorated. Go to a scrapbook store and find three dimensional items that you could use to embellish your invites. Glue peppermint candy or a fabric flower in place of the cherry. For example: light pink, light green and white creates a clean girly look. For a brighter look you can choose complimentary colors. This cupcake should be in the color pallete that you chose for your shower. When you draw out this large cupcake make the cherry ‘heart shaped’ and add stripes to the bottom of it. Cut everything out and decorate the cherry on top and the borders with glitter glue. If you want, you can make more of these and tape them with double-sided tape onto different walls. A great way to make the candles match the whole look is to transform regular vases into pink and brown striped candle holders. To do this, tape pink and brown streamers with double sided tape around various sized glasses and votives. Then simply place the candles inside of them. When you place the gingham tablecloth, position it in such a way that you’ll see an upside down triangle when facing the table frontally. The color of the gingham depends on the color palette that you chose for your baby shower: it could be pastel tones of yellow, pink, green or blue. If you’re throwing a baby shower on a budget, then you might want to go to a store and buy the fabric in quantity. Then simply use special scissors to cut the overlap instead of having to sew them all.

Order bunny and carrot shaped sugar cookies at your local bakery or make them yourself. Have several pedestal trays where you can display different foods. Some ideas are jell-o, glazed donuts, chocolate covered strawberries, carrot cake, brownies, tuna sandwiches, and fruit trays.

There are many candy tree ideas out there and honestly some of them are very time consuming. Make your life easier and buy a ready made tree. That way you’ll only have to embellish it. Deciding on a tree for you to purchase will really depend on the style of your party. For a more sophisticated shower, you can buy a chrome plated tree and hang pretty colored candy from the limbs. Use glittery silver or gold bows to complete the look. White Christmas trees can also be used and combined with whatever colors you have chosen for your baby shower. Some people use the candy ‘as is’ to decorate. However, I prefer to cover the candy with color coordinated candy wrappers to create a more uniformed look. You can also use the candies on the tree as prizes for winners of creative baby shower games that you have previsouly planned. Baby Sock Bouquet Homemade Decoration The baby sock bouquet has become a favorite because of its versatility in being part of the party decoration while also being useful for the expectant mom. Play Dough Baby~ Couples Game The playdough couples baby shower game idea is adorable and pretty funny. Everyone gets 4 different colors of play dough and are told to make the cutest baby that they can out of it. The men make a baby boy and the women make a baby girl. The expecting couple leaves the room so they can’t know who made which baby. When guests are done with their masterpiece, they can place them on top of a table. You can that can decorate it with flowers or with other baby shower centerpieces for tables. Have them line the playdough babies in a row: baby boys on one side and baby girls on the other. When the couple comes back into the room, the expecting dad gets to pick the best play dough baby boy and the mommy to be gets to pick the best play dough baby girl. Winners receive special prizes. Who Knows the Couple Best ~ Baby Shower Game I love this type of game because it’s interactive and allows everyone to get to know each other better. This game doesn’t cost hardly anything which also makes it a great idea if you’re throwing a baby shower on a budget. Guests receive a paper and pen and write out the answers numbering them. Divide your guests into 2 teams. If you want, you can also make it a “men against women” game. Do whatever you feel is best for your baby shower party. Each team should line up at one side of the room or yard. Make sure that you have a lot of open space because this game requires running. The first person in line gets a plastic doll with a disposable diaper on. When the hostess say “go” they have to race to the other side of the room, put the baby on the table, take the diaper off and throw it in the trash, wipe the baby, put baby powder on, place a new diaper on the baby and run back and hand the baby to the next person in line. This keeps going on until all players have changed the baby. If you want this game to last longer you can each player change the diaper twice. The team that finishes first wins and gets prizes.
