Coed baby shower gamesCoed baby showers are loads of fun when you tap into the whole Battle of the Sexes idea.
Nowadays men are going to baby showers too… So planning games is a great way to make sure that everyone has fun at your special event.
It’s also an opportunity for friends and family members to bond.
The following are instructions for two fun baby shower games for your coed baby shower.

Baby Bottle Relay Race

baby bunny pink bowFor this game, you’ll need a plastic baby bottle and 2 plastic buckets for each team. Have pink buckets for the women and blue ones for the guys. This isn’t an indoors game, so it’s best to find an open area like a yard to play this game.
Each team will have a chair where their bucket with water and their baby bottle will be. At the other side of the yard, each team has their empty bucket. Players form a line behind their team’s chair. When the leader says “go”, the first person in line unscrews the baby bottle and fills it with water. Then they have to finish screwing the lid back on and turning it upside down to prove the lid is on the bottle.

They don’t have to screw the lid back on and can run back and give the empty bottle to the next person in line who then proceeds to do the same thing. The first team to fill the bucket with water wins the game. A good idea is to have a red line clearly marking up to where the water needs to be in the bucket in order for it to be considered full. The winning team gets to tell the losing team something they want them to do: like sing a silly song, hop like a frog, or dance the jig. Telling everyone beforehand that this is the prize, will really motivate each team to push harder and win ;-) .

Pink and Blue Diaper Hunt

baby bib bluebaby bib pinkIt’s best to play this game indoors since guests will be crawling on the floor. However if your guests aren’t afraid to get dirty, then you can have it outdoors.
Previously organize all of the items that you’ll need for the game and place them all into one big plastic sack labeled Pink and Blue Diaper Hunt. You’ll need 2 buckets; a pink and a blue one. Purchase a large quantity of blindfolds at a party store. Each guest will need to have a blindfold in order to participate. The amount of diapers depends on how many people will be playing the game.

baby lambIf there will be 10 guys and 10 girls playing, then you’ll need to buy 30 blue and 30 pink cloth diapers (total of 60). An alternative is to just use disposable diapers and stick blue and pink stickers on them. All diapers will be given to the expectant mommy when the shower is over.
Count all of the diapers before the baby shower event so that the game runs smoothly. Another thing is if you planned to only have 10 guys and 10 girls playing and more want to play, you can play this game twice with 2 different groups. This is actually a good thing because it’ll make the entertainment time last longer.
The guys will be the blue team and the women will be pink. (Go pink! LOL :-D )

baby booties bluebaby booties pinkMake sure that everyone is blindfolded before spreading the diapers on the floor so that no one knows where their color of diapers are. When the hostess says “go” everyone will get down on their hands and knees and start crawling to find the diapers. When they grab a diaper they have to go crawling to where the hostess is (seated on a chair) and give the hostess the diaper. She will then place the diaper in the corresponding bucket. (Blue diapers go into the blue bucket and pink diapers go in the pink bucket.)
Players have no idea if they handed the right color of diaper to the hostess and this is what makes the game so much fun. After each player has handed 3 diapers they have to stop playing and sit on the side to watch the rest of the players scramble for diapers. The first team that gets all of their diapers first into the bucket wins. Prepapre prizes for the winning team.
