Kids Bible Sermon overcoming laziness & a slothful sluggard spirit
Have you ever noticed that T.V. shows portray laziness as a good thing?
When you watch certain shows the kid that gets away with not working is considered the smart kid. Somehow fooling people in order to do less work is supposed to be “cool”.
But the truth is that a lie is being taught through many of these programs.
Many people see work as a punishment- they misinterpret the Bible verse in Genesis where God states the consequences of Adam’s sin.

Letting go of the past: how to let go of the past to achieve a peaceful and content life
By Eren Mckay

One of the main reasons people are not content is because they hang onto the past with all their might. They may be hanging onto negative past things or clinging on to the “Good’ole Days” so tightly that they don’t give themselves room to experience present joys.
Hanging onto Negative past things
After going through certain trauma- every time I would try to move ahead and get something done it was like I was stuck. One day I talked to a friend of mine and asked for help. She said to me- you’re not moving forward because you’re not letting go of the past. At that moment- I felt my mind shift. That’s all I needed to hear to decide not to dwell on the past anymore. After that talk with my friend I was out of the rut and able to move forward.
In order to move on you need to let certain things behind you. Put your thoughts, ideas, and energy towards what you are going to do not what happened and all of the injustices you went through.
You can actually take control of your thoughts and move on. Move ahead. Don’t let the past determine your present or your future.

Keys to interpreting the Bible the right way through study
One little lie can ruin a whole lot. If somehow lies have slipped into our belief system we are bound to have major trouble up ahead.

When we’re studying a certain scripture that teaches us a truth we must determine what the main words are in that verse. With those main words we can do a word study and find the many other places in which the word is used in the Bible.

Being Content part 2- seeing things from God’s perspective
Do you know what the root of lack of contentment is? Many times we blame bad circumstances or people but the truth is that lack of contentment is a lack of trust in God. We may think we trust God, but when things begin to tighten up why do we complain, get mad, or grumble? Don’t we know that the Almighty God is sovereign? Don’t we know that He knows much more than we do about what is best for our lives?
Trusting God is the key starting point to being content no matter what happens.

Christ said: Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. (John 14:27)
You see, Christ’s peace is not circumstantial. When we abide in His peace, we are deciding to trust God no matter what. He is our shepherd and we are His sheep.
Where can you find contentment? Is it in something that you get, have or achieve?
